In January 2019, our team of skilled groundwork operatives began work on the opening phase of the new development for Smith Carpentry and Construction. The contracted included the full groundworks infrastructure package with all sewers and drainage, earthworks, landscaping, 278 works and and new road and pavement construction.

Groundworks

Groundworks are the core of our business. Working closely with our clients and allocating resources accordingly. Earthworks

The initial step in any new development or project is the earthworks which prepares the ground for excavation. This is carried out by stripping away the topsoil, clearing the site of any vegetation, removing excess earth (muckaway) and cutting and filling so the works can then begin.

As part of our groundwork infrastructure, we create the trenches for these essential services, connecting homes to mainland sewers and ensuring there are provisions for fresh running water. Whether were upgrading old services or installing new ones.

Landscaping

We don’t just work below the surface we also influence the way things look above ground too. Helping to bring our projects to life with a combination of soft and hard landscaping techniques. We reshape parks and plant trees on small residential developments and also pave public spaces.
